Diving into Transformative Change

Welcome to our lifestyle blog that is here to help cultivate positive changes for yourself whether you are looking to improve your mind, body, health, or soul. As we physically feel the seasons change, there is an urge in me to also share these experiences, though, the question has always been "where do I even start?" There are many topics out there I want to share and then hopefully spur clusters of community through comments and discussions. And I believe that if you are a person trying to make change to better your life it is not a singular action that gets you to the end goal, it is a cumulation of events that we all take to get there.

If you have been following 86 Cold Press for a few years, you may have noticed I am always talking about consistency. Baby steps into these practices can get you to a great space that cultivates health and wellness for yourself. Promotes a less-stressful life, benefits your future self, and hopefully to find balance in the difficulties you have found in your life.

Don't forget, I am also a human. I have made mistakes, fallen into my spurts of depression, and even though have owned a juice company for almost 8 years have had my faults in my health journey- and that is A-Okay. I have always felt the need to please people and to always feel I shouldn't have a burger in public even though I follow a paleo lifestyle. I guess that will follow into what we deal with today about diet culture, well, thats a topic I will talk about another time. I hope you find my conversations helpful and can apply to your own life.

First, let's get into consistency;

Consistency is like the steady rhythm of a drum in the symphony of life. It's a small but mighty force that can lead to profound transformation. In a world where instant gratification often takes precedence, the power of consistency is often underestimated. But, it's the unwavering commitment to daily, positive actions that can make all the difference in the long run. We oftentimes think that when we make shifts in our daily life, those actions are bigger than we usually can chew.

Consistency is not about doing something once in a while or when you feel like it. It's about showing up, day after day, regardless of the obstacles that may come your way. It's about building a habit that becomes an integral part of your life.

How can we turn actions into habits, especially in a world where time seems perpetually scarce? The answer lies in the art of simplicity. Imagine you're aiming to make a significant improvement in your life, but your schedule is busier than a beehive in spring. The key is to break down your goal into the smallest, most manageable actions.

For instance, if your dream is to run a marathon, but you're not used to regular workouts, start with a simple, daily walk. It may seem minuscule compared to the grand marathon, but it's the perfect building block for consistency.

Similarly, if you wish to embrace meditation, don't burden yourself with the expectation of sitting for 30 minutes in complete serenity. Instead, begin with just 5 minutes of solitude. These precious moments of self-reflection can be more easily squeezed into your hectic schedule.

At first, it might not seem like much, but as the days turn into weeks and then months, you begin to notice significant changes. You feel more energetic, your mood improves, and your physical fitness increases. This is the magic of consistency and the power of those 'baby steps'.

The beauty of this approach is that it doesn't overwhelm you. By simplifying your actions to the smallest, most attainable level, you set the stage for consistency. When a task feels effortlessly doable every day, it gradually transforms from a mere action into a habit.

Consistency often thrives in simplicity, making it easier to weave into the fabric of your daily life. So, if you're feeling the weight of a hectic schedule, remember that even the tiniest of actions can lead to profound change when practiced consistently.

Now, this principle applies to various aspects of life, whether it's pursuing a new skill, achieving a career goal, or improving your relationships. The key is to set achievable, realistic goals and create a plan that you can stick to, day after day. Over time, these small, consistent efforts accumulate and lead to transformative change.

One essential aspect of consistency is to stay patient, give yourself some grace and not become discouraged by immediate results. Progress might be slow, and there may be setbacks, but that's a natural part of any journey. The real transformation often occurs in the process, as you learn, adapt, and become more resilient. In addition, this leads to a sense of intuitive thinking for your body. Whether its the relationship with food/mood/energy.

So, if you're looking to make a positive change in your life, remember that consistency is your ally. It's the dependable friend who will help you achieve your goals and realize your dreams. Embrace it, and watch as the small, consistent steps you take turn into giant leaps towards your desired future.

I have a few alternative new habits that I am trying to incorporate into my health. Every week I have been in practice with sweating in a sauna, at least 11 total minutes of cold plunges per week, and adding new vitamin regimen that is aimed at a few health benefits- all aimed for an ultimate goal to better my future self. Through these processes, I have been feeling some of the best changes in my life- the future Austin desires the actions I take today.

Thank you for reading, if you'd like to leave a comment, please do. Or better yet, comment about what baby steps you are laying that will get you to your ultimate goals.
